Jay Pepito is the owner and operator of Jay’s Barbershop in fast-growing San Marcos, California.  A recent transplant from the East Coast, Jay comes to North County after 20 years spent living in Philadelphia and growing up at the New Jersey shore.  

After completing barber school in New Jersey, Jay desired further experience and chose to apprentice as a barber at Franklin’s Barbershop in Philadelphia, PA where he then worked for five years before making the journey to California. He holds licenses as a barber and a barber manager in California and Pennsylvania respectively.  Jay also earned a MS in Non-Profit Management from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016, where he also served as a Wharton Leadership Fellow, a Penn Impact Fellow, the Treasurer of the School of Social Policy and Practice, and served as an officer for the Wharton Rugby Club.

Jay is also a musician, and occasionally tours with his band END. When he is not working or playing music, he is a fitness enthusiast with pursuits ranging from distance running, Muay Thai, powerlifting, and hiking.  Jay also enjoys a diverse range of hobbies such as nature photography, reading, traveling, and….well he has it in his head that someday he’ll learn to surf and spearfish.

He lives nearby in San Elijo Hills with his fiancé Christine, his two step-children, the best dog in the world Huckleberry, and their pet snake CiCi.

June Nguyen is a CA licensed barber from originally from Vietnam, but currently lives in San Diego. During the pandemic, he began cutting his own hair and quickly developed a passion for the craft. This led him to enroll in barber school to refine his skills further. For June, barbering goes beyond haircuts; it's about connecting with people from all walks of life, an opportunity he treasures.

When he's not at the barber's chair, you'll find him training at the gym, learning how to cook, hiking, or enjoying video games.

Joe Torres is a North County native and has been a full-time barber for 2 years. He began his career in Oceanside where he learned and grew a deep love for barbering. He later went on to work in Point Loma for a year where he gained even more experience.

Joe is inspired by the rich history of barbering. He seeks to cultivate a comfortable environment for those who book with him while providing a traditional barber experience. When he is not in the shop, Joe can be found biking, painting, listening to music, and spending time with his wife and their families.

Zach was born and raised in Orange County, California. After high school Zach joined the Marine Corps and served five years. Zach deployed in 2017 on board the USS America and served in the Horn of Africa.

Zach has been cutting hair in the North County area since 2021, and enjoys cutting old school styles with precision and accuracy. He grew up going to Golden Crown barber shop in Laguna Niguel. As a teenager, he loved watching barbers cut hair from the waiting room. It was only natural that one day he would decide to take up the trade himself.

In 2023 Zach and his wife Chelstine became the parents of their lovely daughter Jeanette. Zach’s favorite hobbies are seeing live music, traveling, and tie dying. He is a fan of classic rock, metal, punk, hip hop, outlaw country, and electronic dance music. Zach enjoys collecting tattoo flash and reading thought-provoking literature by authors like Kurt Vonnegut and Serj Tankian.

Hi, I’m Alexis Garcia, a licensed barber and proud North County native. Barbering runs deep in my family from my mom to my cousins, it’s a craft that’s been passed down and a passion that’s allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life.

Outside of the shop, I enjoy spending time with friends, gaming, and watching sports. I'm a big fan of soccer, basketball, and football. Cory Estelle is a newly licensed barber born and raised in Oceanside CA. His desire to be a barber stems directly from Jay's Barbershop! After many different jobs and not feeling quite sure what path to go down, meeting Jay and all the guys really opened his eyes to a new career and future!

In Cory's eyes barbering isn't just a career but somewhere he feels like his personality can really be shown. Getting to meet and connect with new people daily, providing a great experience and the flexibility that comes with the career is exactly what Cory has been looking for.

Outside of the barbershop Cory stays busy helping his girlfriend run her own Nail Salon. Also he's an expecting father to a beautiful baby girl in November! Aside from that some of his interests are sports (football, basketball, baseball, etc..) gaming and anime. His favorite thing to talk about is traveling and all the best places to have great experiences! Lastly above all he is a big foodie and always open to new suggestions!
